It’s one of the tracks on Sixteen Shades of Blue, an eclectic, cross-genre compilation album featuring original music by Yale students. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by 17O1 Records, Yale’s student-led undergraduate record label.

This photo shows an old Yale commencement tradition. The Presentation Day custom was to bring pipes outside and smoke, and then set them upright and do a “stag dance” where they ran around and broke their pipes to seal their friendships.

Presentation Day evolved into Class Day, and while pipes are still distributed as per tradition, students now use them to blow bubbles and keep as souvenirs.

Yale researchers used light to probe the actions of the neurotransmitter GABA on single synapses along the branches of a neuron.
